The Finance Department's responsibility is to efficiently manage and account for the city's financial resources through financial reporting services, operational and capital budgeting support, debt, investment, and risk management.

Audit

The City of Hewitt has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for 19 years of excellence in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award is given to local governments that go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports evidencing transparency and full disclosure.

Budget Information

The City of Hewitt, Texas, has consistently led governmental budgeting, receiving the GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the  20th year. This award reflects our governing body's unwavering commitment to the highest principles of governmental budgeting, ensuring effective budget presentation that meets nationally recognized guidelines.
