Johnny Price was born and raised in Garland, Texas. He moved to Waco with his wife and two children, Savannah and Luke, in 1988 and started a fire alarm company. He has three beautiful granddaughters, Leah, Shyanne, and Skylar.

In 2008, he started Big Iron Handgun License Training after working as a firearms instructor since 2001. He was in the Texas Department of Public Safety’s first certification training course for the School Safety Officer Instructor. He has since certified many school districts’ staff to carry in Central Texas Schools and throughout Texas to keep our kids safe in school.

He teaches School Guardian Active Shooter Response Training for many school districts and is passionate about protecting our kids. He has certified thousands of Texans and new residents of Texas in their License to Carry, instructing them with the skills and techniques to protect their loved ones. In addition, he was in the first TX DPS certification course for Armed First Responders to keep our EMS, EMTs, and Firefighters safe from harm.

Johnny moved to Hewitt in 2017 when he married his wife, Carla. Johnny is also a Shriner and rides with their motorcycle unit. He has helped with many fundraisers and events benefitting the shrine, primarily supporting their most significant philanthropy, The Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals. They provide the best burn care, orthopedic care, cleft pallet reconstruction, and spinal cord treatment to children with no regard to race, color or creed, or ability to pay.

Johnny joined the Hewitt City Council in May of 2022; he has been a leader in his business, the shrine, and believes his experiences will help the city of Hewitt grow, prosper, and reach its goals. Mr. Price is honored to represent and serve the residents of Hewitt.
