TexShare

TexShare Card

The TexShare Card allows patrons to borrow materials from over 500 library collections all across Texas. The card is accepted in a wide variety of public and academic libraries, allowing borrowers in good standing access to hundreds of books and other materials that would previously have been unobtainable. A patron's library card, in combination with the TexShare Card, is a ticket to a powerful network of library resources in Texas.

Obtaining a TexShare Card

Hewitt Public Library patrons may obtain a TexShare card under the following conditions:

Must be a library cardholder in good standing (no overdue or lost books and no library fines) for at least six months.
Library card must show recent activity - at least six months of checking out / in at least one item per month.
Must provide current proof of residency (bill or official piece of mail no older than 30 days) and a photo ID to obtain or renew a TexShare card.

Visiting TexShare cardholders may obtain a Hewitt Public Library card provided they present a current, unedited TexShare card from their home library and a valid form of photo identification. The patron may check out one print book.

TexShare cards are valid for six months.

TexShare Databases

Hewitt Public Library cardholders have access to the many varied databases available through the Texas State Library's TexShare program. These databases include magazine and newspaper articles, journal articles, e-books, maps, and more to answer research or reference questions. Databases may be accessed via the Hewitt Public Library online catalog or by visiting the TexShare website.

Available Databases

Biblioboard	A collection of e-books from the E-Read Texas Unlimited Collection, including popular non-fiction such as travel, nutrition and health, and gardening, along with adult and young adult fiction. Accessible anywhere in Texas; no login required.
Book Connections	Resources about children's and young adult books from TeachingBooks, including exclusive Meet-the-Author movies and recordings, book trailers, and Reader's Advisory to help you choose the right book.
Chilton Library	ChiltonLibrary.com represents the most authoritative repair information available to car owners. There are thousands of year, make and model combinations covering the most popular vehicles of the past 30 years, plus additional coverage of specialty models.
Gale Cengage	Quickly access articles from a database of scholarly journals and other trusted periodicals, among specialized databases across business, literature, science, and other disciplines.
HeritageQuest	Digital, searchable images of U.S. federal census records with the digitized version of the popular ProQuest Genealogy & Local History collection and other valuable content. Powered by Ancestry with more than 4.4 billion records and coverage dating back to the 1700s.
Job & Career Accelerator	A job search and career exploration resource with more than 1,100 occupations, same resumes and cover letters, current job and internship postings, and guidance on preparing for and getting a job.
Learning Express	A collection of interactive tutorials, practice tests, articles, flash cards and e-books patrons can use to improve academic skills in reading, writing, math and science as well as prepare for high-stakes exams.
Legal Forms	A wide selection of state-specific (and multi-state) legal forms across the most popular legal areas. Includes real estate contracts, wills, pre-marital agreements, bankruptcy, divorce, landlord tenant and many others.
Miss Humblebee's Academy	Interactive learning program for children ages three to six. Aligned with preschool and elementary standards.
