The Hewitt Municipal Court has the responsibility for all
Class C complaints and tickets, docketing and processing charges filed by
citizens, law enforcement personnel and the City’s animal/environmental
officer.
Collecting fines, answering questions from the public,
preparing reports to the state and processing warrants and capias’ are among
other responsibilities of the court.

The court is staffed with two full time clerks and one
judge, who is appointed by the City Council. Dan Francis serves as the
Municipal Judge for Hewitt.
Kathleen Dow performs the duties of Prosecuting Attorney
on a part-time basis for the city. The court bailiffs are police officers
assigned by the Hewitt Police Department.
Appearances, jury trials and non-jury trials are held on
the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month.
