He is a graduate of Tompkins Cortland Community College with an Associates Degree in Accounting, St. John Fisher College with a Certificate in Business Management, and Alameda University with a Bachelors of Science Business Management degree. Passalugo is currently working at the CST Brands as a Zone Merchandiser, but has previously worked at Valero Energy Corporation, CEFCO, H-E-B, Top Market and Passalugo Cash Grocery. Passalugo has served in the United States Army National Guard in multiple positions including Infantry, Communication Chief, Recruiter, and Career Counselor. He later served in the United States Army Reserve as a combat Engineer and Senior Drill Instructor.
Passalugo has served on the Hewitt City Council for five years. In the community, he is involved in the Waco Kiwanis club where he has served as the President of the Board of Directors, and he currently serves on the CST Brands as the Chairman of the DFW/Central Texas Foundation. Throughout his lifetime Passalugo would consider his accomplishment of prosecuting a person who was convicted of two murders while he was serving on the Cortland Fire Department Arson squad. Passalugo has been awarded the Regiment Drill Instructor of the Year, Five-time store manager of the year at Top Market, and Commendation Cortland Fire Department.
The City of Hewitt is one of the fastest growing cities in McLennan County. For the past 3 years we have grown at around 8% a year. Our population estimate at this time is 15,500 residents, which the census showed we should achieve by 2020. As Mayor, I am a firm believer in the Safety of Our Citizens and our City Employees. This was evident this past year when Hewitt was named the Second Safest City to live in Texas. In 2014, the new Public Safety building opened and on April 14th we debuted the new City Hall and Hewitt Public Library.
